Spyderco Delica4 FRN KnifeIn 1990 Spyderco shook things up by introducing two knives, the Delica and Endura. First of their kind on the market, both folders opened up the knife market to lightweight performance, one-hand open pocket knives that just about everyone could afford. They settled as Spyderco’s top two bestsellers and their improvement hasn’t slowed since. Refinement has been so ongoing and continual. Spyderco tagged the updating/upgrading process with the term CQI- Constant Quality Improvement. During the Delica’s CQI journey Spyderco tweaked ergonomics, refined blade steels and fine-tuned the performance countless times. They are an evolutionary work in progress and the next level is here with the new Spyderco Delica4 knife. Now with screw construction cleaning and adjusting are easier. The fiberglass reinforced nylon handles come molded with Bi-Directional Texturing® for preferred traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle dual skeletonized stainless steel liners make the knife stronger without adding weight and make an anchor for all external and internal components to attach through adding sturdiness and rigidity. Their VG-10 blades are flat saber-ground with a stronger tip and larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade’s spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed clip. Spyderco Delica 4 FRN Foliage Green Knife
Based on the background green found in the U.S. Army’s Digital Camo, the military foliage green Delica4 knife is designed for both military and civilians. The color is a shade-shifting mix of gray and green that effectively disappears into its surroundings. Spyderco offers this new handle color option on the revamped Delica4. These models now have screw construction making cleaning and adjusting easier. Their fiberglass reinforced nylon handles come molded with Bi-Directional Texturing® for traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle dual skeletonized stainless steel liners make the knife stronger without adding weight and create an anchor that external and internal components attach through, adding more sturdiness and rigidity. Spyderco Delica 4 Stainless Steel KnifeThe stainless steel Delica 4 fills your palm with a handful of steel yet doesn't seem weighty or unwieldy. Knife nuts who prefer something heavier and stouter seem to gravitate to steel handled knives. Since the handle surface is flat and smooth it offers an ideal palette for engraving or personalizing your knife. As part of Spyderco’s CQI™ (Constant Quality Improvement) philosophy the C10SS now offers improved ergonomics – added to the blade’s spine is slip resistant jimping, a larger thumb hole, a stronger thicker tip and a new 4-way clip design (R/L reversible & Tip-up/Tip-down). The hollow-ground blade has been upgraded to VG-10 and is available in a PlainEdge, SpyderEdge or CombinationEdge configuration. Spyderco Delica Foliage Green G-10 KnifeCheck out this addition to the classic Delica Model with a color-blend foliage green G-10 laminate handle. This grip-grabbing lightweight handle shakes off temperature extremes, chemicals and hard-use without discoloration, warping or peeling. The shade changing green-gray color blends into the U.S. Army’s digital cammo, taking on the color spectrum of its surroundings and keeping the knife unobtrusive. The G-10 Delica is available in PlainEdge with a full flat ground VG-10 blade. Spyderco Delica Green ZDP-189 KnifeThe knife industry is constantly pushing the envelope searching for, and testing, higher performance blade steels. ZDP189 is rapidly asserting itself as an up-and-coming steel. It's a powdered metal made by Hitachi that has phenomenal chemistry with 3% carbon. The hardness is around 64Rc and edge retention is exceptional. This solid ZDP-189 steel blade is the hottest, hardest and highest performing steel in the knife industry today. Because it is such a high performing product, there are limited quantities available. Spyderco Delica Trainer KnifeMartial artists and MBC practitioners all follow one cardinal rule, safe practice and training. Learning drills, actions and reactions with an unsharpened training blade allows you comfortable and realistic practice without the consequences of meeting a sharpened edge. Our Delica trainer has the same features as its live counterpart -- minus the sharpened cutting edge. Holes drilled out of the blade and an upswept tip, take away a small amount of weight and make the piece balanced in the hand. Stopping the knife from slipping and sliding, the handle is deeply textured in Spyderco's volcano grip pattern. By making the FRN handle red, it's designated and easily recognizable as a training model. The black metal clip is ambidextrous and positions the knife in the pocket tip-up. Spyderco Delica4 Black Blade KnifeThis version of the popular Delica4 has a non-reflective VG-10 blade that is coated with black titanium carbonitride and is flat saber-ground, has a strong tip and large 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade’s spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left- or right-handed clip. Spyderco Delica4 Emerson OpenerIf knives could be created in the same way we choose players for fantasy football league teams, every hardcore knife knut would recruit features and characteristics they like best from different knife companies and combine them into their favorite knife. Spyderco will undoubtedly fulfill many knife knuts knife fantasy picks with the introduction of the Delica and Endura with Emerson's opening feature. These models combine all that’s functional and performance-based in a Spyderco folder with the blade-opening feature made popular and patented by Ernest Emerson of Emerson Knives. The Emerson opening feature is a hook curving out the top of the knife’s blade. When removing the knife from a front pocket it catches the pocket’s edge quickly opening the knife blade ready to use. The knife can also be taken out of the pocket without engaging the opening feature by pulling it straight up and out with your fingers on top of the closed blade. Delicas and Enduras with Emerson's opening feature have screw construction making cleaning and adjusting easier. Their gray fiberglass reinforced nylon handles are molded with Bi-Directional Texturing® for traction and improved ergonomics. Inside the handle dual skeletonized stainless steel liners strengthen the knife without additional weight and create an anchor for external and internal components to attach through for more sturdiness and rigidity. Spyderco Delica4 Emerson Opener Trainer KnifeThis year’s knife industry trends appear to be leaning toward making functionality fun and techie with folding knife features like the Emerson opening feature leading the parade. Popularized and patented by Ernest Emerson of Emerson Knives, the opening feature is a hook curving out the blade’s spine that catches the edge of your pant’s pocket when drawing the knife. It quickly opens the knife blade so it’s locked and ready to use. The fact there is a learning curve in using the opening feature makes a this trainer applicable. Gaining proficiency in safely handling and opening an Emerson folder comes through repetitive practice. Delica and Endura Emerson Opener Trainers are identically sized, proportioned and weighted replicas of their “live” counterparts sans a sharpened edge and point. Designating them trainers are their red FRN handles. The handles have Bi-Directional Texturing® for traction and screw-together construction for cleaning and adjustment. To reduce weight the dual handle liners are skeletonized stainless steel and holes in the blade remove even more ounces. Phosphor bronze washers smooth open/close action and the clip attaches in four-positions: tip-up/ tip-down, left- or right-hand. Spyderco Delica 4 Flat Ground FRN KnifeIf you already own a Delica or Endura, you have one of the best selling knives Spyderco makes. The knife you have just acquired is a bit different from the normal C10 Endura4 and C11 Delica4 Lightweights. Inside the handle are dual skeletonized stainless steel liners which strengthen the knife without additional weight and double as an anchor for external and internal components to attach through generating more sturdiness and rigidity. The blades are full flat-ground VG-10 with a thinner highly refined cutting edge and a larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade’s spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left-or right-handed clip.
